Prayer on a Wintry Day

All-Loving God,

We know you accompany
have preference for
count every hair
hold under your wing
the most vulnerable
and so you are with
the displaced
economic immigrants
refugees
and you are especially
with the people of

Afghanistan
Iraq
Iran
Libya
Somalia
Sudan
Syria
Ukraine
Yemen

that is sure.

Ahh, God of Love, You Alone,
can bring good out of evil.

that is sure.

Give us grace and courage
to move with peace
to act with justice
to do your will
and walk in your ways
with our sisters, brothers,
everywhere,
In every nation.

Let us honor and build upon
the rich, diverse, strength of
refugee and immigrant history
that is America,
for all of us were once refugees...
with the exceptions of our
sorrowing history of slavery with Africans
and the genocide of our first nation Indian
brothers and sisters, may our history be
honest and restorative.

Let us be bold
until we stand on equal ground
open-hearted before each other.

In God, as we each name God,
In God, we trust,
Amen.
